A Greenwood non-profit agency, the Sexual Trauma and Counseling Center was recently selected by the Greenwood Municipal Federal Credit Union (GMFCU) board of directors to receive a donation.
The mission of the Sexual Trauma and Counseling Center is to provide services to adult and child victims of sexual violence and their families through community education, advocacy, crisis intervention, and counseling."
Each year GMFCU does a "skip-a-payment" program through the months of November, December, and January. This program gives their members the opportunity to skip one of their monthly loan payments and the funds collected are split into different categories for donations to charities selected by their board of directors. GMFCU members benefit from this program as well as the community.
