United FCU Donates $1,400 for Families Fighting Pediatric Cancer

GRIFFITH, Ind. – United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) has donated $1,400 to Northwest Indiana Cancer Kids Foundation (NICK) to assist parents and families with children fighting cancer.
The donation check from UFCU was accepted by NICK co-founder Donna Criner.
“Prior to NICK, there were no local support services available to families impacted by childhood cancers. United Federal Credit Union helped change that with their support,” said Criner. “They really make a difference in the community.”
NICK provides financial assistance and resources, and connects families with similar experiences for support during a difficult time. Some of the services offered by NICK include post-transplant home preparation; help with out-of-state travel, and assistance navigating medical bills and insurance claims.
Griffith Branch Manager Sylvia Torbica called it a privilege to support NICK.
“Nothing is more important than helping families through tough times,” said Torbica.
