Northwest Federal Sponsors Annual Cherry Blossom Ten-mile Run

$12.5K donation part of Credit Union’s “70 Acts of We”

Herndon, Va. (April 19, 2017) Northwest Federal Credit Union was recently a sponsor of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten-mile Run, proceeds from which benefit the children treated at Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospitals. The race, held on the grounds of the Washington Monument, raises money to support the Credit Union Miracle Day charity, which brings together credit union organizations throughout the United States to support the 170 CMN hospitals.

“The Cherry Blossom run is a special event for Northwest Federal employees and their families; every year we come together to cheer on the runners and show our support for this worthy cause,” said Northwest Federal’s Acting President and CEO, Jeff Bentley. “We are honored to join with our fellow credit unions to support Children’s Miracle Network and the good work they do.”

120 employees, family members and friends of Northwest Federal volunteered to marshal the course and participated in the run. The sponsorship was part of a year-long “70 Acts of We” initiative celebrating the Credit Union’s 70th anniversary with 70 charitable acts benefitting their members, community and employees.
