St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union Presents $1,700 to Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad

April 19, 2017 – Ogdensburg – St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union recently made the first installment on a three-year $5,000 donation to the Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad’s Annual Appeal. The $1,700 check was presented on April 4th. The Credit Union’s donation will be used to improve the Rescue Squad’s aging ambulance fleet.

SLFCU President/CEO Todd Mashaw said, “The Rescue Squad responds to all calls for emergency medical service regardless of the patient’s ability to pay. St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union is happy to make this pledge to help the dedicated men and women of the Ogdensburg Volunteer

Rescue Squad continue to do their vital work.”

Since 1961 the Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad has been providing Ogdensburg and surrounding communities with the most advanced emergency medical and extrication services available. During 2016, we responded to 2,547 calls ·with an average out of service time of just under 2 1/2 minutes.

About the Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad

Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad is made up of over 45 volunteers, 8 employees including a full time Chief of Emergency Services. OVRS is one of the premier training facilities for students enrolled in EMT and Paramedic training courses from St. Lawrence and Jefferson County. The OVRS response territory covers approximately 325 square miles with an annual call volume over 2,500 calls.
