The generosity of Dakota’s credit unions was clearly evident during the 2017 CUAD Summit in Deadwood this week. Tables quickly filled with food items, art supplies, games, cleaning products, clothes, and other items on the “need list” from the Boys and Girls Club of Lead – Deadwood.  As an added bonus, at the end of his presentation, closing keynote speaker Matt Tenney announced that he was leaving stacks of his book “Serve to be Great” for free for attendees – all he asked was that they pay it forward, and make a donation to the Boys and Girls Club.  This incredible act brought in an extra $647 in cash for the club.

Boys & Girls Clubs provide young people with opportunities to engage in programs that help them achieve academic success, take charge of their health by building healthy habits that will stick with them throughout their lives, and foster the skills they need to become leaders in their communities. Boys & Girls Clubs are there for kids when they need us most: after school, and all day in the summer. Membership is open to all youth, ages preschool – age 18.
