Diamond CU Supports Local Charities With "Shoot for CommYOUNITY" Challenge

During Reading Royals games this season, local charities played to win a donation from Diamond Credit Union.
During each Saturday home game for the Reading Royals’ 2016-2017 season, Diamond held the Shoot For CommYOUNITY challenge. Over the course of the season, twelve local charities were invited to come on the ice and shoot a puck into the net. Each organization was guaranteed a donation of $100. If they made the shot from a close distance, their donation increased to $250. If they made the farther shot, they received $1,000 for their charity. In total, the organizations received $2,650 this season.
The charities invited reflect a theme night selected by the Royals’ or picked by the Diamond Branch staff in their local community. The participating charity organizations this season were: The Friends of the Reading Hospital, Veterans Association (Veterans Night), Hope Rescue Mission (Shelter Night), Olivet Boys and Girls Club, Platelet Disorder Support Association, Penn State University THON for Pediatric Cancer, Berks Encore, Special Olympics (Special Olympics Night), American Cancer Society (Pink in the Rink Night), Unending Promise and the Autism Association of Berks County (Autism Awareness Night), KenCrest EmployNET, and The Salvation Army of Boyertown.
