Rapid City, S.D. – Black Hills Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the selection of BHFCU employees Aubrey Hoard and Jessica Trupe as recipients of the Duane Ellingson “Passion for Service” Memorial Scholarship.
Established in 2015 in remembrance of former Manager/President Duane Ellingson, the scholarship program gives BHFCU employees the opportunity to attend a national, credit union related conference. Successful applicants must demonstrate leadership, a passion for learning and dedication to the credit union movement.
“Duane was a visionary thinker and innovative strategist who deeply cared for staff and members,” said Roger Heacock, current president and CEO of BHFCU. “Aubrey and Jessica have a passion for service that aligns with Duane’s legacy and BHFCU’s mission to improve lives. I’m proud to have them represent BHFCU.”
This year, Hoard, a personal financial associate at BHFCU’s Spearfish Member Service Center, will represent BHFCU at CUNA’s America’s Credit Union Conference in Las Vegas, NV. Meanwhile, Trupe, a personal financial associate at BHFCU’s Mountain View Member Service Center in Rapid City, will attend the CU Water Cooler Symposium in Madison, WI.
Both Hoard and Trupe said they are excited for the opportunity to engage with other credit union leaders. They look forward to sharing what they learn with their coworkers to better serve the credit union’s members.
