Bannockburn (IL) – Great Lakes Credit Union’s (GLCU) first Random Act of Kindness for 2017 took place on Saturday, February 25, 2017. GLCU’s North Chicago employees stopped in at Nice Dogs for Nice Families  to say hello to several adoptable pets. During the visit, they also donated to this rescue, located in Lake Bluff.

Just a few weeks later, on Thursday, March 16, 2017, GLCU’s Naperville employees visited Edwards Hospital in Naperville and donated games, coloring books, markers and more for the children at the hospital.  When asked about the visit, Nikki Appleyard, Naperville’s Branch Manager, commented, “This was such a great experience! Nina, a Certified Child Life Specialist, was ecstatic when she saw everything we brought, including the card games for older kids, board games, Legos, balls, stuffed animals for the children and rattles for the babies. We’re happy we could bring a little happiness to these kids!”

All year long employees at GLCU branches will perform various random acts of kindness as a way to make a direct impact and give back to their communities. Stay tuned for the next Random Act of Kindness!
