First Community Credit Union Employee is Honored for Volunteer Work

Fargo, ND – First Community Credit Union (FCCU) would like to congratulate one of its own, Kris Hanneman – Business Associate at FCCU Fargo South, for receiving the YWCA Cass County 2017 Women of the Year nomination.

Hanneman was recently nominated for this award, which pays tribute to outstanding women in the Cass Clay county area whose lives, talents, and passions are making an impact on their communities. All honorees have demonstrated passion for their community, service to women and children, and are inspiring the upcoming generation of leaders.

"I am very blessed and honored to have been nominated by the YWCA for the Women of the Year Community and Volunteer Service award," shares Hanneman. She continues to say, "I have been surrounded by many wonderful women in the Fargo area who have volunteered alongside of me and have shown me the importance of helping others in our wonderful community. It is rewarding to see our efforts benefit those within the community and I am proud to help where I can."

Hanneman is the chairperson for Stick it to Cancer, which is an annual fundraising event involving the high school hockey community to help raise funds for Lend a Hand. The funds raised help families within the Class Clay county area that are undergoing a medical crisis. She is on the Booster Board for Fargo North High School and helps instruct Confirmation classes at Hope Lutheran Church, in Fargo. Through these service projects she has had the opportunity to help with bingo at the Veteran’s Hospital and spend time visiting residents at local nursing homes, amongst other projects. Hanneman was also announced as FCCU’s 2016 Volunteer of the Year for accumulating over 90 hours of volunteer time, outside of work activities.

The YWCA has honored nearly 500 women from 1973 to 2016. Each year thirty-three women and businesses are nominated for their annual awards event. This year’s 44th awards event will be held at 5:30pm on Monday, May 1, in Fargo at the Delta by Marriott (formerly Ramada Plaza & Suites).
