Members Exchange Credit Union Supports Local Children's Hospital
March 14, 2017
Jackson, Miss.—Members Exchange Credit Union partnered with Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital to host a Miracle Workers Coin Drive as a kickoff event to the annual Mississippi Miracles Radiothon.
Members Exchange kicked off the month-long fundraiser on January 31 by handing out collection bags and keepsake piggy banks. Members of the credit union, as well as students at local schools, signed up as Miracle Workers and committed to collecting spare change during the month of February.
The Miracle Worker Program’s goal was to generate excitement and raise money to help launch the Mississippi Miracles Radiothon March 1-3. Miracle Workers encouraged fellow students, co-workers, friends and family to contribute their spare change to the coin drive.
“This is Members Exchange first year to sponsor the Miracle Workers Program, and we are amazed how spare change can add up!” said Angela Mitchell, AVP of Marketing.
Thanks to contributions from every Miracle Worker, the collected efforts totaled $2,500. Members Exchange presented the check to the hospital during the Mississippi Miracles Radiothon on March 2. The three-day Radiothon event raised $504,360 for the children at Batson Hospital.
Members Exchange will continue to collect funds for Batson Children’s Hospital throughout the year as part of the Credit Union 4 Kids movement. Credit Unions across the country help raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through the CU 4 Kids collaboration, and are the 3rd largest sponsor of CMN Hospitals.
