Sioux Empire FCU Recognized for Compassionate Commitment to Community

Chartered on August 25, 1938, Bluestone Federal Credit Union was originally started to offer not-for-profit financial services to the employees of the City of Sioux Falls. Over the years Bluestone Federal Credit Union’s field of membership has grown to encompass anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in 43 counties across Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota. Today Bluestone Federal Credit Union is a full service Credit Union with over 100 million in assets and 10,000+ members.
March 9, 2017, Sioux Falls, SD – Sioux Empire Federal Credit Union is a Compassionate Sioux Falls Service Award winner this year for their vast volunteer efforts in the Sioux Falls area.
Compassionate Sioux Falls began in 2016 as a small group of individuals who wanted to encourage individuals and businesses to practice compassion to life in Sioux Falls on a daily basis. Throughout the first year, the group held community events and even developed their own television show to spotlight businesses that are active in serving the community. The group, hosted by the City of Sioux Falls Human Relations Department, awards organizations in and around Sioux Falls that put forth extraordinary efforts in volunteering and providing exemplary compassion to the less fortunate.
Sioux Empire Federal Credit Union received a 2017 award for their commitment to community. Together, the employees volunteer their time assisting a variety of different charities and groups such as Feeding South Dakota – Backpack Program, Adopt-a-Highway, The Banquet of Sioux Falls, Family Visitation Center Sioux Falls, Junior Achievement, mentoring programs and many more! A concern for the community is one of the founding principles of the Credit Union and they strive to positively impact the community with their volunteerism. They look forward to discovering new and exciting opportunities to serve in the months to come.
