The Credit Unions United Chapter held their first food drive as a chapter event during the month of November, 2016.  Minot, ND area credit unions, including Gem FCU, North Star Community CU in Minot and Bottineau, Prairie Federal CU, and Town & Country CU, collected 475 pounds of non-perishable food items for local food pantries!

What does 475 pounds look like in terms of food?  It filled the trunks of four cars!

The food was distributed to Lord’s Cupboard and Salvation Army Food pantries. The food pantries were very appreciative to receive items before the Christmas season. The Salvation Army was especially grateful since their shelves were nearly bare.

The Chapter wants to thank the Minot area credit unions for participating.  With the great success of this charitable event, the Chapter has decided to make this food drive an annual event.
