Roanoke, VA— Member One Federal Credit Union was a proud sponsor of the 14th annual Guns & Hoses Charity Hockey Game, held at the Berglund Center in Roanoke on Saturday, January 21.

Member One has participated in this event for several years and hosted the “Puck Shot Game” where attendees enter a drawing for their chance to take a shot at goal and win up to $500. This year, Steven Rexrode of Roanoke made the shot from the blue line and was awarded $250 by Member One FCU.

Andrea Milliron, Vice President of Business Development, commented, “It’s wonderful to see how this event has grown to become an annual favorite.

We’re thrilled to support our community and such an important cause through our continued sponsorship.”

Guns and Hoses is an annual charity hockey game played to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Each year, the Roanoke-area firefighters (the “Hoses”) take on a team of Roanoke-area police officers and law enforcement personnel (the “Guns”). With a capacity crowd of 6,500 in attendance, $38,000 was raised for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The event has now raised $287,150 in its 14-year history. The Guns won the game with a score of 7 to 1.
