Pacific Service Credit Union Makes $33,000 Donation to Local Food Bank

Concord, CA January 12, 2017 - Pacific Service Credit Union (Pacific Service CU), a full-service financial institution serving several counties throughout California, closed out 2016 by making a $33,000 donation to the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano. A portion of the proceeds were raised directly by Pacific Service CU employees through Jeans for Beans, Buy-A-Bag, and Candy Gram fundraisers. A check from Pacific Service CU was presented to the Food Bank in December, and the occasion was featured on local CBS television station KPIX Channel 5. Since 2001, Pacific Service Credit Union has donated nearly $300,000 to the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano.
In addition, Pacific Service CU presented a check for $8,000 in November to the Bay Area Rescue Mission to purchase turkey dinners for families in need during the Thanksgiving holiday. Pacific Service CU also distributed over $1,000 in toys to the Bay Area Crisis Nursery, which provides short-term residential care for families with children.
Additional non-profit organizations benefit from Pacific Service Credit Unions support, including Childrens Miracle Network, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Valley Childrens Hospital. In 2016, Pacific Service Credit Union was ranked 78th in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Business Times for corporate philanthropy and donated over $130,000 to charities and non-profit organizations.
