Credit union raises funds for big brothers big sisters

From Austin, TX, a group of 35 United Heritage Credit Union employees gave a total of 77 hours of their time to participate in Trudys Bowl for Kids on Sunday, March 3, and raised $3,223 in donations from individuals and $1,600 in donations from the Credit Union and United Heritage Charity Foundation. �All funds benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas.

Trudys Bowl for Kids is an annual Austin-area bowl-a-thon fundraiser that has provided financial support for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas for 30 years. This year the event raised $172,973. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a non-profit organization that provides nurturing mentor relationships for children facing adversity. United Heritage Credit Union actively supports the communities it serves through the Team United Heritage employee volunteer group and United Heritage Charity Foundation.� Created in 2011, Team United Heritage is a group of United Heritage Credit Union employees committed to the credit union philosophy of "People Helping People." Team United Heritage participants volunteer their time afterhours to help organizations throughout� local communities by providing man-power and monetary support.� Founded in 2003, the United Heritage Charity Foundation was developed as a 501(c)(3) to support projects and organizations within local communities and, since its inception, has distributed over $1.1 million. The Charity Foundations goals are to support participation in events that make communities a better place to live, work and attend school; support education initiatives and medical research; better the lives of sick and neglected children and their families during their times of need; and establish a presence in the community.
