Insight Credit Union donated $2,198 to Relay for Life

ORLANDO, FL (December 27, 2016) – Insight Credit Union recently donated $2,198 to Relay for Life of Hunter’s Creek to support the initiatives of the American Cancer Society. Proceeds were raised by credit union employees through fundraising in the branches, online and at the event.

In addition to the financial support, the Insight Inspire volunteer team donated more than 266 hours at the ­overnight event in Osprey Park. Volunteers included Insight employees and their friends and families.

“We have all been touched by someone who has fought or continues to fight cancer. That’s why Insight supports the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life year after year,” said George Davis, president and chief executive officer at Insight Credit Union. “We are so thankful for everyone who helped us support this worthy cause.”

The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem through research, education, advocacy and service. Relay for Life is a team fundraising walk that gives communities across the globe a chance to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost and fight back against the disease.

The 60 teams and 524 participants of Relay for Life of Hunter’s Creek raised a total of $149,385.51 for the American Cancer Society.
