Credit union supports St. Jude Children's Hospital
March 11, 2013
During each quarter of 2013, First Community Credit Union (FCCU) of Jamestown, ND, will hold fundraisers for different worthy organizations. The charities are voted on by employees. Each quarter, FCCU will hold different events and promotions to support the charities in their own unique way.
The first quarter fundraising organization, as chosen by FCCU staff, is St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. St. Jude is unlike any other pediatric treatment and research facility. Discoveries made here have completely changed how the world treats children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. With research and patient care under one roof, St. Jude is where some of todays most gifted researchers are able to do science more quickly.
Each of the credit union's 14 branches will hold book and movie drives for members and the community to bring in new childrens books, coloring books, crafts and DVDs for children staying at St. Judes. Children stay at St. Judes for long periods of time waiting for the day they can be healthy enough to be normal kids again. These items help to entertain the kids and help pass the time.
Pin Ups can also be purchased for $1.00. Anyone who purchases a pinup can write their name on them and they will be displayed in the branch locations. Money from the pinups goes toward different medical procedures, tests and exams so these children can receive the care they need without their families having to spend large amounts of money on medical bills.
