000 donation provided by the Credit Union.

Mr. Weiss' winning submission was a tip on how teachers can discourage tardiness:

\"High school teachers have to deal with students being tardy to class all day, every day. Here is what I do:

If a student is late to my class (even 5 seconds late), I have what I call the \"8:19 Club\" (which is the end of first period). Each period has its own \"club\" (the time that the class period ends). Each tardy student's name goes on the board as part of the \"8:19 Club\" or whichever period they were tardy.

Each tardy student must stay after class for 30 seconds. Believe me when I tell you that the 30 seconds seems like an eternity to them. They are forced to miss 30 seconds of hallway socialization time! Knowing that they will be forced to miss 30 seconds of hallway socialization time, all of my students come to my class on time!\"

\"Mr. Weiss' recognition for all the hard work he and other educators do every day was very special for us,\" said Michael Meiser
