Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union Donated More than $10,000 to Typhoon Haiyan Relief

Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union is proud to share that through the generosity of its members and employees, the credit union� was able to donate� $10,068.38 to the American Red Cross �� Northern Minnesota Region to help provide relief to people in the Philippines following the devastation of Typhoon Haiyan.
��With generous donations �� like those made by members of Affinity Plus and then matched by Affinity Plus -- the American Red Cross can help deliver the emergency aid needed by so many people in the Philippines right now,�� said Phil Hansen, regional chapter executive of the American Red Cross �� Northern Minnesota Region.
Affinity Plus collected donations of cash and Participation Rewards points from members and employees beginning Monday, Nov. 18, through Friday, Dec. 6, 2013,� and matched all donations up to $5,000. Participation Rewards points are awarded to members for their activity in the credit union and can be redeemed for their own financial gain, or donated to one of Affinity Plus�� five Charities of Choice which include: Affinity Plus Foundation, American Red Cross �� Northern Minnesota Region, Children��s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, Second Harvest Heartland, and Special Olympics Minnesota.
��The grand total of donations demonstrates the commitment of our members and employees who consistently reach out to help those in need,�� states Dave Larson, Affinity Plus President and CEO. ��We even received a $1,000 donation from one of our members since we were matching. Their generosity is simply amazing.��
In October 2013, Affinity Plus collected donations of cash and Participation Rewards points for Colorado Flood Relief, and matched all donations up to $5,000. The total amount raised was $2,410.
