Credit union offering $4,000 in scholarships

NuVision Federal Credit Union of Huntington Beach, CA�has announced its annual 2013 Scholarship Program to support local students pursuing post-secondary education.� The credit union, which is open to the public, has been providing scholarships since 2008 to help promote educational opportunities and career enrichment within the communities it serves.
One (1) $1,000 and six (6) $500 scholarships will be awarded to students attending a four-year college or university (public or private), community college, or pursuing trade certification in a vocational or technical school. �Eligibility requirements and application forms are available on the NuVision website.

Tarman, Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations at NuVision Federal Credit Union. �"In addition to outlining their educational goals, every scholarship applicant is asked to explain what they believe young adults can do to become better savers, and what a financial institution should offer to help them succeed.� In this way, the program also allows us to learn from one another and to make sure the voices of our young people are heard in our industry."
All applications and supporting materials will be accepted starting Friday, March 1, 2013 through Tuesday, April 30, 2013.� The selection committee will make its decisions in early June 2013, and scholarship applicants will be contacted by the end of June 2013.� The seven scholarship recipients will be recognized with their parents at a scholarship reception on Tuesday, July 30 at 5:00 p.m. at NuVisions Huntington Beach headquarters.
