Saginaw Medical Federal Credit Union Supports Covenant Kids in Saginaw, Michigan
August 14, 2013
Saginaw Medical Federal Credit Union (SMFCU) was proud to continue its support in 2013 of our local Pediatric unit at Covenant Hospital. Covenant Kids is a fund managed by the Covenant Healthcare Foundation. Monies in this fund are dedicated to enhance the care for all Covenant patients under the age of 18 and their families. To date, over $300,000 has been raised by Covenant Kids to support the pediatric needs in the Great Lakes Bay Region.
SMFCU has always been a silent supporter of Covenant Kids fundraising programs. However, this year we took it up a notch and sold puppy stuffed animals with proceeds of over $200 going to the fund. We also wore special SMFCU Supports Covenant Kids t-shirts on Fridays in April to bring more recognition to the program while collecting donations from our members at both offices until the date of their fundraising telethon. This years Covenant Kids Telethon raised more than $82,000! Altogether, SMFCU donated over $1,300 as a result of staff and member donations. We also participated as a t-shirt sponsor in the Covenant Kids 5K Walk/Run in June with a booth in the registration area.
