Credit union donation supports community affected by hurricane sandy

The Westerly Community Credit Union�of Westerly, RI has donated $5,000 to the Greater Westerly Chamber Foundation (GWCF) to help support the "Bring Back the Beach" Misquamicut Beach Recovery Fund. Steve White, President/CEO of WCCU stated, "We are honored to donate these funds to support our local community and local business owners who were affected by Hurricane Sandy. We hope this donation will help aid the recovery process required to make our beach community whole again." The "Bring Back the Beach" campaign, managed by The Greater Westerly Chamber Foundation, is based on the Jump Start small business recovery program, which was created in 2010 to help businesses affected by the flood that year. 100% of the donations will go directly to Misquamicut businesses that need financial support to resume operations.
