First Community CU Supports Local Food Pantries
October 11, 2016
Jamestown, ND - First Community Credit Union recently held fundraisers that collected over 2,193 items and raised $2,000 for local food pantries. Items ranged from mac and cheese to fruit cups and granola bars, and even juice boxes - all easy to use items for children and families that can use some assistance.
FCCU wanted to have some fun while supporting a good cause, so they also held a can sculpture contest between the branches and departments to see who could build the best sculpture out of canned goods. The sculptures were displayed in the lobby areas of each branch for members to view. After each sculpture was submitted, we asked staff to vote for their favorite sculpture. The Napoleon branchs "combine" sculpture won first place, with Jamestown Mains "wishing well" coming in close behind.
In addition, all of FCCUs 15 branches collected proceeds from casual Fridays and member donations, which were split among the organizations. A sincere thank you to everyone who brought items and supported this cause. Not only did the credit union help stock the shelves at local food pantries, but they also had a great time while doing so!
