Great Basin FCU Raises Nearly $1,700 for Local Children's Hospital

captureRENO, NV (October 4, 2016) Great Basin Federal Credit Union in Reno, NV raised $1,693 from its Miracle Jeans Day held Sept.14. Miracle Jeans Day allows employees to wear jeans instead of normal attire for a $5 donation to Renown Childrens Hospital, which is the areas Childrens Miracle Network Hospital. Great Basin Federal Credit Union raises money each year for the Reno-based childrens hospital. In addition to Miracle Jeans Day, Great Basin FCU also received donations from its generous members by placing donation jars on teller counters, as well as from local auto dealers which made hefty contributions to the cause. Great Basins most unique fundraiser was an employee auction. Staff donated gently used items to the auction, and each day lots of goods were auctioned off via email to the entire staff. Great Basin FCU was able to double its donation thanks to a matching grant from CO-OP Financial Services via its "CO-OP Miracle Match" program. Great Basin Federal Credit Union joined thousands of people across North America that participated in Miracle Jeans Day. Credit unions as an industry are the third largest sponsor of Childrens Miracle Hospitals through the Credit Unions for Kids non-profit.
