new-ideas-logoFargo, ND - A central theme of the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas' New Ideas Conference this year is "Dakotas Giving Back", and we are going all out with "good deeds" during the three day event. On Monday night during dinner, CUAD and the Red River Chapter started by taking donations for theWDAY Honor Flightprogram in exchange for a chance to win prizes in a "bean bag toss" game. The Honor Flight mission is to fly as many World War II and Korean War Veterans as possible to see their memorials in Washington, DC at no cost to them. To date, the WDAY Honor Flight has flown over 1000 area Veterans on six Honor Flights! The next Honor Flight is scheduled for October, 2016. The WWII and Korean War Veterans and their guardians will fly from the Fargo Hector International Airport directly to Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C. An amazing $730 was raised in just two hours, and every penny will help support this important organization that honors our veterans who have given so much. You can learn more about the Honor Flight program or make a special donation by visiting http://wdayhonorflight.areavoices.com/
