NuVision FCU Supports Local Elementary School

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (October 4, 2016) NuVision Federal Credit Union has been helping to meet the needs of Oak View Elementary School in Huntington Beach, Calif. for over five years. The local elementary school, serving kids in Kindergarten through fifth-grade, is located just a few minutes from the credit unions Huntington Beach-based headquarters branch.

�"The students, parents and faculty of Oak View Elementary hold a special place in our hearts here at NuVision," said Attila Morgan, Manager of Community Engagement/PR at NuVision Federal Credit Union. "They are right here in our neighborhood, so we like to look out for them anyway we can."�

�NuVision has been supporting the nearby elementary school in a variety of ways for over five years. Last month, NuVision donated and delivered backpacks filled with school supplies including pencils, erasers, binders, notebook paper, notebooks, pens, folders, a highlighter, and a pencil case.�The backpacks helped ease the transition back to school for low-income students at Oak View Elementary. In May, the credit union sponsored the schools Cinco De Mayo celebration and set up a face-painting booth for the children. In April, NuVision donated 330 ear buds to the school that were needed to conduct state testing.�

�Last spring, NuVision also visited Oak View Elementary to help educate the kids about money and banking, while encouraging them to save. "Learning the importance of saving and taking care of your money are skills that kids can use for the rest of their lives," added Morgan.�

NuVision places a high priority on education-related outreach in the communities it serves. The credit union recently awarded $20,000 in scholarships and prize money to students and schools across Southern California as part of its first annual Think.Tank.Challenge. high school essay contest. The credit union also donated $10,000 to sponsor Summer Science Camp 2016 for students in Kindergarten through 12^th grade in Orange and Los Angeles Counties.
