dtfa_afw2016Glendora, CA, September 28, 2016 For the fourth year in a row, Americas Christian Credit Union (ACCU) has been named one of the Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces by The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. ACCU earned 6th place among companies ranging from 1 100 employees, moving up two places from the previous year, by offering a $5,000 adoption grant and 6 weeks paid-leave to adoptive parents at their organization. ACCU President/CEO Mendell L. Thompson spoke excitedly about the honor, "For many years we have been diligently working to further our mission to help children around the world find forever families. For us the focus starts with our employees. We offer adoption benefits that stand out in our industry. While we are proud to be the only credit union to make the list; we hope and pray that we will serve as a role model and forerunner for others to follow in this important cause!" The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoptions Best Adoption-Friendly Workplace program has honored employers of every size and industry that offer adoption benefits for employees since 2007. Rankings for the Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces List are determined by an analysis of a companys benefits that are made available to employees who adopt, such as financial reimbursement and paid leave. The Foundation compiles the results from its annual survey of U.S. employers, and partners with Employee Benefit News, a SourceMedia publication that is the leading source of information for benefits decision makers, to announce the winners. This distinction is one of many ACCU has received since its adoption loan program began in 2009. Having helped over 1,450 children find forever families through their award-winning Adoption Loan Program, ACCU has become an industry leader in adoption finance, providing training, resources and assistance to adoption organizations across the country. Earlier this month, two key members of ACCUs adoption team -- Naomi Paris-Klotz, Director of Member Engagement and Natalie DePrat, AVP of Consumer Lending -- attended The National Council for Adoptions annual conference in New Orleans to speak to adoption agencies, lawyers and foundations on the importance of providing financial information to adoptive families early in the process. "Americas Christian Credit Union embodies the Spirit of Christ as they advocate for adoptive families. They take the time to give free financial counseling to every family who inquires about their Adoption Loan Program," raved Kris Faasse, Senior VP of Clinical Operations for Bethany Christian Services, a keynote speaker at the National Council for Adoptions Awards Luncheon.
