BETTENDORF, IA It was a busy summer of giving for the leadership at Ascentra Credit Union.� This summer, 36 organizations and charities throughout Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois received $17,000 in Leadership Grants awarded by the Ascentra Credit Union Foundation.
In 2015, the foundation committee wanted to support the causes that the volunteer board of directors and senior leadership are active with and elected to allow them to give out $1,000 to efforts and causes close to them.� This year the giving continued and the organizations that were positively impacted include:

"There are many worthy causes that are important to our volunteer board of directors and leadership team at Ascentra Credit Union," said Ascentra President and CEO Dale Owen. "This is a great way to allow those who give so much to our organization to provide help to those causes they know and care about. It really speaks to the people-helping-people philosophy at the core of the credit union movement."
The Paul Lensmeyer Golf Outing is the major fundraiser for the Ascentra Credit Union Foundation and will take place on Monday, Sept. 26
