captureHERNDON, VA (September 13, 2016) The NWFCU Foundation, the charitable arm of Northwest Federal Credit Union, collected backpacks and school supplies for the Foundation for Fairfax County Public Schools, donating them along with a $1k check in support of local students. Employees and members donated items as part of the annual, county-wide "Collect for Kids" campaign. "Over 50,000 children in Fairfax County receive free or reduced-price lunches, making an astounding number of our local students eligible to benefit from the Collect for Kids program," said President and CEO of Northwest Federal, Chris McDonald. "We believe that when a child begins the school year with the tools they need to succeed, anything is possible, and were proud to support the Foundation for Fairfax County Public Schools again this year."
