NuVision Federal Credit Union Donates 200 Backpacks for Children in Need

captureHUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (September 9, 2016) NuVision Federal Credit Union has donated 200 backpacks filled with school supplies for disadvantaged children in our community as they head back to school.�

NuVision donated and delivered the backpacks to the Huntington Beach Youth Shelter in Huntington Beach, Calif.; Oak View Elementary School in Huntington Beach, Calif.; Thomas House Family Shelter in Garden Grove, Calif.; and Addams Elementary School in Long Beach, Calif. Each backpack was filled with pencils, erasers, binders, notebook paper, notebooks, pens, folders, a highlighter, and a pencil case.� NuVision has been delivering backpacks and school supplies to children in need since 2011.� "Every year, NuVision donates backpacks and school supplies to disadvantaged children in our community so that they can begin the new school year with excitement and confidence," said Attila Morgan, Manager of Community Engagement/PR at NuVision Federal Credit Union. "NuVision places a high priority on education-related outreach in the communities we serve, and this is just one small way we can help give back."�

NuVision recently awarded $20,000 in scholarships and prize money to students and schools across Southern California as part of its first annual Think.Tank.Challenge. essay contest. The credit union also donated $10,000 to sponsor Summer Science Camp 2016 for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade in Orange and Los Angeles Counties.
