captureMembers of cooperatives reap the rewards of belonging to member-owned organizations. When cooperatives partner together, their members benefit greatly. Such was the case for one lucky member of the Delaware Electric Cooperative (DEC). During the organization's recent annual meeting and community fair, Dover Federal Credit Union hosted an information table, where it sponsored a drawing for a month's worth of electricity. Amid 400 entrants, Phyllis Harwood emerged as the winner, receiving her prize of a $250 credit to her DEC account. Deb Jewell, Dover FCU marketing director, who oversaw the drawing, had the pleasure of notifying Harwood. "When cooperatives unite, the members benefit. It's great to partner with a fellow member-owned organization and give back to its members in order to make a positive difference in their financial life. It's not just who we are, it's what we do."
