Leominster Credit Union, Leominster, Mass., will hold its annual fall shred-a-thon on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 9 am to noon at its Worcester, Mass. location (910 West Boylston St.). Members and non-members can rid themselves of old, sensitive documents by shredding and recycling them at this event. All items will be shred on site by a secure shredding service, New England Security Shredders. Community members are allowed up to three legal-size file boxes or three 13-gallon kitchen trash bags to be shred for free. This annual event not only raises awareness about recycling, it also highlights the importance of identity theft protection. Suggested documents to shred include bank statements, tax returns, medical bills, credit card statements, and other personal documents. While this event is free, the credit union will be accepting donations for Habitat for Humanity. For more information contact Joanne Lattanzi, marketing manager, at 978.466.7240 or by clicking HERE.
