CaptureJACKSON, Mich.CP Federal Credit Union has stepped forward with another $50,000 pledge to the city of Jackson here after the city found itself more than $230,000 short of funding adowntown building to house the Glidden Parker Mural in July. After cutting costs by $40,000 and receiving additional funds, that number is down to $30,000, according to media reports. CP Federal had previously given a $100,000 grant toward the project. The building is slated forHorace Blackman Park and will house the nine-by-28-foot mural. It was previously displayed in the lobby of the old Consumers Energy Headquarters, where Blackman Park now sits. The buildingwill include an area for art displays, a large stage and amphitheater area and a 30-foot screen thatcan come down in front of the mural for summer movie nights by the Jackson Downtown Development Authority. The amphitheater will be available for concerts and other community events. The plan is to break ground in November.
