August 27, 2016
Falcon Heights, MN Dan Stoltz, President and CEO of SPIRE Credit Union recently challenged SPIRE employees to participate in the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation Financial Literacy 5K. To encourage participation, Stoltz guaranteed that he would personally contribute $50 for each participant who beat his time. As it happened, ALL SPIRE participants beat Stoltzs time, and $500 was contributed to the SPIRE Give Back Fund benefiting local charitable organizations.
All proceeds from the Financial Literacy 5K go to the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation Financial Education Grant Program, awarding grants to fund projects, programs and initiatives that help improve the personal finance skills of consumers and communities across Minnesota.
"It was so great to see the hundreds of people who turned out for this event to support financial education," says Stoltz, "Im so proud of the SPIRE team for their support of community and giving back!"
