1NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (August 20, 2016) Contributions from visitors at Connex Credit Unions North Haven Branch during the second quarter of 2016 have helped make a significant impact for one local community group. As a part of its philanthropic program ConnexCares, Connex Credit Union recently donated more than $900, from the fees collected by Connexs coin-cashing machine at their North Haven branch, to Young Ladies Taking Responsibility and Portraying Proper Educational Development (Y.L.T.R.A.P.P.E.D). The Coins-for-Change program charges a five percent fee to members, a seven percent fee to non-members and donates the fees collected to charitable organizations in the local community, contributing more than $10,000 annually. "We would like to thank Connex Credit Union for this generous donation," said Julia Moore, president and founder, Young Ladies Taking Responsibility and Portraying Proper Educational Development. "These funds will assist us in our mission to help our young ladies become thriving, successful and productive members of society through our many programs." Y.L.T.R.A.P.P.E.D is an organization whose goal is to teach and equip young women, ages 14-21, with the knowledge and skills to become productive, successful members of society. Their mission is to encourage young women to embrace growing from within while simultaneously forming a community of empowered women. If you are a local non-profit or charitable organization interested in participating in the "Coins-for-Change" program, please contact Roquita Johnson at Connex Credit Union, at 203-603-5787 or rjohnson@connexcu.org.
