1The Teen Titan Program of the Milford Boys and Girls Club, Milford, DE, wrapped up its summer program with an opportunity for participants to develop money-saving skills that will empower their future financial success. Led by Marla Smith, teen service director at the club, the teens enjoyed a day learning about financial literacy with a team from Dover Federal Credit Union, Dover, DE, the 2015 United States Air Force Credit Union of the year. Participants started the day with an interactive presentation, followed by group work and educational games. The credit union's team members led games that tasked the super savers with budgeting for all of life's unexpected turns. Through the game, the Teen Titans began to realize the importance of financial discipline. After lunch, the teens got a tour of the Milford Branch of Dover Federal CU, experiencing real-life scenarios of how to make deposits and withdrawals, open accounts, apply for loans, and access accounts online.
