ONTARIO, CA (August 17, 2016) The Richard Myles Johnson (RMJ) Foundation/CUNA Mutual Golf Tournament, held August 15 at the Newport Beach Country Club in Newport Beach, CA, raised a record $70,000 for the state foundation for credit unions in California and Nevada. The event drew 144 players and 21 sponsors. Madison, WI-based CUNA Mutual served as title sponsor. "It was great to have a sold-out event again this year. The money raised will be used to fund the Foundation"s Bite of Reality, a fun, interactive youth financial education program which will reach more than 11,000 teens in California and Nevada just this year," said RMJ Executive Director Tena Lozano. "We"ve improved the program by developing a Bite of Reality app that replaces the paper worksheets and allows students to use their smartphones to record their "purchases."" The tournament"s winning group was Robert Martinez, Chad Olis, Guz Ortiz, and Shawn Markow from Arrowhead CU/Enterprise Car Rental/R&B Car Sales. The foursome from USE CU (CEO Jim Harris, Ken Kramer, Matt Adams, and Josh Lawrence) came in second.
