FORUM Credit Union is pleased to announce the winner of its annual youth entrepreneurial contest. The contest is part of FORUM"s Bright Start Program, which promotes early entrepreneurial skills for kids and teens. This year"s winner, Jun Sung, created a comprehensive business plan for a company named Hawk Eye Golf Company. His concept, an organization to provide affordable, high quality used golf balls to the community, included a full business analysis, geographic and demographic information, competitor analysis, marketing objectives, and a sales plan. A budget, income statement, balance sheet and sales plan were all included in the full, 19 page strategy. Jun says he "will put the prize money in an interest making savings account that will help save for the future when it will most likely be needed." This year"s submissions told inspirational stories of entrepreneurship through the eyes of teens as they work to make the community a better place. Submissions included an entrepreneur who used innovative book publishing to support literacy, a business concept of a high quality healthcare facility, and an organization that converts mission statements into animated sketches and videos. The contest allowed youth, ages 13-19, throughout Central Indiana to submit a current business or a concept into a drawing for a grand prize. Both FORUM members and nonmembers were invited to submit either a photo or a two minute video explaining their current business, or a business plan of their concept to Instagram. A written response to the question "How would winning the grand prize of $250 help you live your financial dreams?" was also included with contest submissions.
