downloadJamestown, ND - During each quarter of 2016, First Community Credit Union (FCCU), is holding fundraisers for different worthy organizations. The charities are voted on by employees, and each quarter, FCCU holds different events and fundraisers to support the charities in their own unique way. The third quarter fundraising organization, as chosen by FCCU staff, are local food pantries. To support the cause, they will be holding a food drive at each branch for staff, members, and the community. Suggested items for donations include:
  • Canned items such as soup, fruit, vegetables, tuna, and beef stew.
  • Boxed dinners such as macaroni & cheese and rice.
  • Kid-friendly items such as granola bars, fruit snacks, raisins, graham crackers, fruit cups, and pretzels.
  • Peanut butter, jelly, mayonnaise, salad dressing, and spaghetti sauce.
  • Cold cereal, hot cereal mixes, and breakfast bars.
  • Non-food items such as paper products, soap, shampoo, and toothpaste.
The items and funds collected will be donated to the following local agencies according to each branch:

FCCU also wanted to have some fun while supporting the cause, so they will be holding a can sculpture contest between the branches and departments to see who can build the best sculpture out of canned goods. The sculptures will be displayed in the lobby areas for members to view. In addition to the food drive and can sculpture contest, FCCU is encouraging financial donations for those that don"t want to donate items, but would like to donate money and help support the cause. First Community CU employees are encouraged to volunteer their time serving at their local food shelf or similar causes, such as Meals on Wheels programs and the homeless shelter.
