Homefield Credit Union Supports National Night Out
August 8, 2016
Employees from Homefield Credit Union, North Grafton, Mass., joined the Grafton Police Department for its National Night Out Block Party on August 2, marking the 11th consecutive year the credit union has participated in the event. "National Night Out Against Crime," recognized at police departments nationwide, brings together thousands of communities each year to promote safety awareness in a fun way for kids and families.
Many state and federal agencies took part in the festivities that included a flyby by the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing Unit, a display of tactical equipment by the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council's SWAT Unit, a K-9 demonstration and an exhibit of seized drug paraphernalia closely guarded by police department personnel. Police cruisers, motorcycles and fire department vehicles were lined up in formation for all to see.
The event also featured kids' activities, such as face painting; free pizza, hot dogs and other refreshments; and educational material for families to take home on topics, such as crime prevention, drug awareness, internet safety, fire prevention, and various health issues.
