Scott Credit Union Donates Over $28K to United Way

Representatives from Scott Credit Union presented a check recently for over $28,000 to Jay Korte, this year"s Campaign Chair for the Southwest Illinois Division of the United Way of Greater St. Louis.
The money was raised during Scott Credit Union"s 10th annual golf tournament fundraiser held in May at The Orchards Golf Course in Belleville.
More than 100 golfers and dozens of area sponsors turned out for the golf event that raised over $28,000. Scott Credit Union has held the tournament each year since 2007 to raise money for United Way. Scott Credit Union"s annual golf tournament has raised over $165,000 in the past 10 years.
"We were excited about the opportunity to help United Way in its efforts to help people from throughout our area with our golf tournament and our employee campaign which will take place later in the year," Hess said. "This is our way of showing our support for what United Way does in our area."
"Credit unions are really about helping people and this is a perfect way for us to take that even a step further," she added.
The United Way funds nearly 200 health and human service agencies located throughout�a 16-county area in Missouri and Illinois. More than one million people in our bi-state community receive services�that strengthen families, help the elderly, keep children healthy and safe, and build stronger neighborhoods. Scott Credit Union has made giving back to its communities a major priority. The local credit union contributed about $370,000 and its employees volunteered more than 2,400 hours to a variety of local civic efforts throughout the region in 2015.
