Great Lakes Credit Union Spreads Random Act of Kindness to Local Children
August 5, 2016
Bannockburn (IL) On Monday, August 1st, employees from GLCU"s Gurnee Branch visited the Hunt Club Park Aquatic Center and passed out ice cream sandwiches to more than 80 children! As the temperature crept to almost 90 degrees, the cold ice cream sandwiches were well received by children and their parents!
When Erica Carrillo, GLCU"s Gurnee Branch Manager, was asked about her team"s Random Act of Kindness she commented, "My group had fun with this. It was a great time and the kids were surprised because they thought they had to do something in return. The adults thought it was fabulous that we were coming out to the community and doing these acts of kindness! It"s pretty neat how something so simple can make people so happy!"
Liz Gnippe, Gurnee Park District"s Marketing Specialist, was appreciative of GLCU"s thoughtfulness and said, "Thank you, Great Lakes Credit Union, for supporting our patrons at Hunt Club Park Aquatic Center. Our swimmers were so surprised and pleased to receive the free ice cream sandwiches! It was great seeing all of their smiling faces. Thank you for your continued support of our community and Gurnee Park District."
All year long employees at GLCU branches are performing various random acts of kindness as a way to make a direct impact and give back to their communities.
