Insight Credit Union Holds Back to School Supply Drive

CaptureORLANDO, FL (August 4, 2016) Insight Credit Union recently held its annual Back to School Supply Drive, donating more than 3,000 school supplies for underprivileged students in Central Florida. For the third consecutive year, members and employees donated pens, pencils, binders, calculators, backpacks, glue sticks and many other items. The proceeds benefited Heart of Florida United Way, United Way of Citrus County, Red for Ed Community School Supply Drive (Lake County Schools) and Howard Middle School. In addition to collecting school supplies, Insight participated in the United Way of Citrus County"s Day of Action. The Insight Inspire volunteer team helped stuff 1,100 backpacks with school supplies for Citrus County elementary school students in need. "Nearly one in every four children in Florida is living in poverty. Through our school supply drive, we aim to provide these children with the tools they need to succeed for the school year," said George Davis, president and chief executive officer of Insight Credit Union. "We are deeply grateful to everyone who donated and supported this initiative to improve the well-being of our community."
