Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union Supports Catie's Closet
July 29, 2016
LOWELL, MA Jeanne D"Arc Credit Union and Lowell General Hospital are joining forces to participate in Fill-The-Bus 2016, a community-wide clothing and toiletry collection for Catie"s Closet.
Catie"s Closet is a nonprofit organization that provides students with access to clothing and basic necessities, free of charge, so they can feel proud to walk the halls of their schools. In addition to its distribution center in Dracut, MA, the organization currently has 36 closets in schools across northern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.
This is the first time Catie"s Closet has held a collection of this size. Jeanne D"Arc Credit Union and Lowell General Hospital are providing boxes at their locations for employees, members, friends, family and the community at large to fill with shirts, pants, undergarments, socks, toiletries and like-new shoes. The deadline to donate is Thursday, August 11th. Bus stops will be at Jeanne D"Arc Credit Union / Lowell General Hospital locations in Westford at 196-198 Littleton Road on Friday, August 12th and in Dracut at 1595 Bridge Street on Saturday, August 13th. A school bus will arrive on each day and it will be filled with all donated items.
"We are very excited to take part in this wonderful collection for Catie"s Closet," said Mark S. Cochran, President and Chief Executive Office of Jeanne D"Arc Credit Union. "With so many children in need of basic necessities, this collection will certainly help them have a successful school year," he added.
"We know how difficult it can be for kids to fit in, and how much a positive self-image and confidence can make a difference in not only a child"s success at school, but their overall health and well-being," said Jody White, President of Lowell General Hospital. "That"s why supporting Catie"s Closet is such a great fit for Lowell General Hospital and Circle Health, and our team is excited to support this great cause."
