"This is another great opportunity for us to support our community and the people who live here," Deatherage said. "It is our way of showing our support to a local program that helps develop tomorrows leaders." Scott Credit Union made a $1,000 donation for youth accounts opened during the month-long promotion and added $500 in support of the program to make up the $1,500 total contribution. "Credit unions are really about helping people and this is a perfect way for us to take that even a step further," she added. The credit union contributed about $275,000 and its employees volunteered more than 2,300 hours to a variety of local civic efforts throughout the region in 2012.
