CaptureLIVONIA, Mich.A team of builders sponsored by Zeal CU Saturday set a Guinness World Record for a circle field and an American record for total toppled dominoes. The team worked for 10 days setting up the Incredible Science Machine: World Edition, a string of more than 250,000 dominoes, at Westland Shopping Center. It took about 20 minutes for the Machine to tumble, HometownLife.com reported. The public was invited to watch. For the second consecutive year, Zeal Credit Union supported chain reaction builders in their attempt to break new records. Beginning a week in advance of the event, 18 builders from the U.S. Canada, Austria and Germany, worked around the clock setting up more than half a million objects, including 250,000 dominoes and thousands of other common items, to create the Incredible Science Machine. The massive chain reaction project was led by head builder Steve Price, a Canton native and recent graduate of the Michigan State University College of Engineering. Zeal Credit Union invited the public to create and film their own homemade chain reactions. When the videos are posted to a public social media account such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, with the hashtag #ZealTheLove, entrants are eligible to become a winner.
