Besides collecting donations in the credit union"s branches and the offices of Greater Nevada Mortgage, GNCU participated in a telethon fundraiser that also accepted donations via text and online and that was hosted by KOLO Channel 8 TV and Alice 96.5 radio. The event helped raise $18,600, with $5,175 of those funds donated by GNCU. The money will be used toward the purchase of a new 15-passenger van for STEP2.
Greater Nevada branch manager Stephanie Arroyo, who is part of the Chamber"s 2016 Leadership program, said the fundraising efforts, including an upcoming dinner with silent auction, will continue until enough money is raised for the new van.
