The Quincy Credit Union (QCU) Crusaders team of employees raised more than $5,000 during the recent American Cancer Society Relay for Life, held at Pageant Field in Quincy.
The team, made up of employees, family and friends touched by cancer in some manner, came together to raise money for cancer research and celebrate the life and strength of survivors. Despite the many emotions, walkers displayed purpose while being cheered on by onlookers, family members and teammates.
In addition to raising money through pledges, the team sold a variety of drinks, snacks and purple-themed items throughout the course of the overnight event. The QCU Crusaders already are looking forward to surpassing this year's fundraising goal during the 2017 event.
