2015 ISM buildersLivonia, Mich. (July 11, 2016) What takes 18 people more than 10 days of 1800 combined work hours to build in order to attempt a new Guinness World Record? It is the Zeal Credit Union Incredible Science Machine: World Edition. The public is invited to attend this free record breaking event at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Westland Shopping Center in Westland, Michigan. For the second consecutive year, Zeal Credit Union is supporting chain reaction builders in their attempt to break new records. This year they will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest domino circle field and the American record for the most dominoes toppled. Beginning a week in advance of the July 23 event, 18 builders from the U.S. Canada, Austria and Germany, will work around the clock setting up more than half a million objects, including 250,000 dominoes and thousands of other common items, to create the Incredible Science Machine (ISM). The massive chain reaction project is being led by head builder Steve Price, a Canton native and recent graduate of the Michigan State University College of Engineering. Price and other ISM builders have been featured on America"s Got Talent, The Discovery Channel, The Today Show, Rachel Ray and other programs nationwide, and have received more than 50 million views on YouTube videos. Zeal Credit Union is currently inviting the public to create and film their own homemade chain reactions. When the videos are posted to a public social media account such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, with the hashtag #ZealTheLove, you are eligible to become a winner. The deadline to enter is July 18, 2016. A Grand Prize winner will receive a $100 Visa gift card from Zeal Credit Union, four VIP seats to the July 23 event, and the opportunity to kick off the Incredible Science Machine"s record breaking attempt. "After watching last year"s chain reaction event, I can assure everyone that you"ll hold your breath and have goose bumps as you watch what these amazing builders have created come toppling down in fine precision," said Lisa Fawcett, Zeal Credit Union marketing vice president. The ISM is expected to take more than 15 minutes to topple. More details about the event are available at www.IncredibleScienceMachine.com.
