The South Dakota Central Chapter of Credit Unions recently gave a donation to the Beadle County Humane Society. Members of the Central Chapter raise the funds at monthly meetings through 50/50 drawings.
The Central Chapter consists of six credit unions: Dakotaland Federal Credit Union, M-O Federal Credit Union, Huron Area Education Federal Credit Union, HB Telco Federal Credit Union, Huron CNW Federal Credit Union (all of Huron), and Oahe Federal Credit Union (of Pierre).
The Beadle County Humane Society (BCHS) is located just south of Huron, but serves all of Beadle Country and surrounding areas, with three full-time, and two part-time employees.
The BCHS takes in an average of over 1,000 animals each year, and also provides animal control services for Huron and surrounding communities, as well as emergency assistance to communities that experience natural disasters (tornado, wild fire, etc.).
